MACHINERY/WORKSHOP SHED @ MULGRAVE, NSW
THE BIG STEEL supplied this shed to house machinery and provide space for a workshop for our customers Rob & Don Tolson in Sydney’s north-western suburbs. This 20x64x6m workshop is just one of many big sheds the brothers have on the site with their primary business being compost production to grow mushrooms.
Its a fascinating process whereby straw is chopped up, heated and mixed with a range of additives to achieve optimal growing conditions. The mushroom spawns are then added to this rich new soil and distributed to the various mushroom farms throughout the eastern states of Australia.
Rob’s three sons Robert, Kevin & David, each have their own mushroom farms and, together, they produce over 200 tons of mushrooms per week—40% of Australia’s total consumption.
